President Abdullah Gül is to receive the “Chatham House Prize” from Queen Elizabeth II. of Britain, met with Turkish Community in a reception at London.
Every year Turkish World Writers and Artists Association (TÜRKSAV) traditionally holds a Turkish World Service Awards and the award was given to its owner today in Nicosia. The ceremony held for the first time outside Turkey and one of the awards was presented to Derviş Eroğlu, the President of TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). The award is presented to Eroğlu by Cemil Çicek, Deputy Prime Minister.
Anatolian Agency Representation Office was opened by Dr. Hilmi Bengi General Manager of AA (Anatolian Agency) and Reşat Yazak member of the Board of Directors. Between AA and Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina News Agency (FENA) signed a cooperation agreement with the participation of President Gül.
President Gül performs the opening of the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center in London and said great countries exist not only with their diplomats but also with their cultural assets. President Abdullah Gül opened Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center in London.

Turcology Project

 
 

TURCOLOGY PROJECT


Turcology Project has been started by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TİKA) in 1999 and it has been first implemented in 2000-2001 academic year.

 

Within the context of the Turcology Project, academicians from Turkey for the 29 Turkish Language and Literature/Turcology Departments and Turkish Courses, local academicians are supported and material and equipment aid is provided for the departments opened at the Universities in 21 countries in total; these countries are Afghanistan, Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Estonia, Palestine, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Slovakia, Syria, Russian Federation, Tatar Autonomous Republic in the Russian Federation, the Ukraine, Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Yemen.

 

As per the protocol signed by the Yunus Emre Foundation and the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TİKA) on 20 September 2011 the said project is handed over to our Foundation. It is agreed that all the activities undertaken at the universities and Turkish courses within the context of the project are to be carried out by the Yunus Emre Foundation starting with the signature date of the protocol.

 

Supports within the context of the Turcology Project:

1.  Assignment of academicians.

2.  Meeting the training material and equipment needs of the departments and programmes.

3.  Invitation of the successful students to the Turcology Summer Internship Programme to be held in Turkey.

4.  Providing academic supports to foreign Turcologists for such activities as researches, seminars, conferences etc.

5.  Contributing to the training of young Turcologists.

6. Providing support to projects and activities to be carried out by the Turkish universities and the relevant foreign universities in the field of Turcology.

7.  Supporting the projects of foreign Turcologists on the Turkish language, history, culture and art.
